Message from the Author

"This is my first fiction book. It was great fun to write, thanks to the Indus figurines and the one-horn beast. They have been egging me on with ideas for quite a few years. I want readers to have fun reading this story, and if you become intrigued to learn more about the Indus Civilisation, so much the better. There is so much we still don't know about it. You can investigate it like detectives, as archaeologists do. The magnificent beast, Cartman, Plenty, and the Toddlers are always waiting to come alive and help you."

Ilona Aronovsky studied history at Edinburgh University, and taught in London schools. She is the author of education publications about the Indus and many other history topics. She met the characters in this story whilst writing teaching materials for Primary Schools. She is fascinated by the achievements of this great civilisation, new discoveries that happen every year, and the mysteries archaeologists are still trying to solve.
