Liaquat Ali Khan was Jinnah"s second-in-command during the Pakistan Movement and then became the country's first Prime Minister. He ruled Pakistan after Jinnah's death in September 1948 until he was assasinated in 1952. He is shown here with his wife, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, a prominent women's leader before and after Independence.
