2007 Winning Entry - St Wilfrid's School
A BBC Broadcast from 1922 introduced Sir John Marshall and the discovery of the Indus Civilisation.
In 2007 members of St Wilfrid's Archaeological Society were invited to join in excavations. They planned their journey by air, from Leeds to Mohenjo-daro's airport.
"There’s so many things I’ve had to bring,
My favourite trowel and yards of string,
Drawing pencils, notebooks and a hat,
My camera and lots of film,
A good strong bag to put things in,
Some sunblock and a novel for the plane.
For I’m leaving on a jet plane,
Don ’t know when I’ll be back again.
Oh, I can’t wait to go
Now the time has come to leave home,
Have I got my mobile phone?
Will we get there in time for the flight?
I’ll dream about the days to come
When I will be in Pakistan
The best adventure so far in my life."
