This uncut newsreel of rulers from Princely India was shot during the second session of the famous Round Table Conferences in London in the fall of 1931. The narration belongs to Princess Abida Sultaan, whose father, the Nawab of Bhopal, led the Princes at the Conference. Billed as the most important meeting yet on colonial India's future, it was attended by Gandhi and followed his Salt Satyagraha launched in 1930.

The Roundtable Conferences led nowhere and Gandhi was re-arrested soon therafter.

A complete interview and more audio clips of Princess Abida Sultaan are available. She was one of the last and most remarkable survivors of pre-Independence Princely India.
